Opinion of heart rate?

Hey guys,

What do you all look for in your conditioning regimens? Ive just started training again for the first time in about a year and ive done quite a bit of reading and it looks like variable heart rate is the key. To kinda simulate the fight(going balls out striking, to the chess match that is the ground game). And it also looks like rosstraining.com is a highly recomended way to get it done.

Any opinions or suggestions?

Take a look at EZA's post on HOW TO FINALLY SOLVE YOUR CONDITIONING PROBLEM. There is so much to take into account that no one can (or probably be willig to ) explain all you need to know. EZA did a great job and touched on the most important aspects. A great place to look is cyclist training protocol. They are some of the most advanced in dealing with HR specific training in my opinion. Adapt it to fighting with some of EZA's suggestions. No one can really tell you without knowing your true MHR, RHR and TH. His post makes a damn good place to start however.

FYI. If you haven't been training your sport for more than a year HR training isn't even necessary except for maybe long distance training.
