One week out from a fight...

To the experienced trainers/fighters here:

What do you do about one week away from a fight? (MMA rules.) What drills do you concentrate on? How much do you run? What do you eat?

Also, when exactly do you start tapering down if you've peaked a little early for a fight? The organizers kept moving the date and it ended up being 3 weeks off from peaking. What's I'm planning on doing for the three weeks is:

Week 1 - make another push of hard training, sparring, the works. Some plyos probably.

week 2 - focus on mostly ground strategy further, again. Little bit of weight training

week 3 - just chill, talk strategy, run a bit, pads a bit, light sparring, ring generalship, some basketball

Does this all sound good to you? Just curious. I got a good team but we're mostly newbies to MMA, just wanted to know what the more experienced guys thought of this.

What are talking about here? Running? I got less than a month but I'm in great shape now. Feel strong and all that. Got three weeks to go...

More importantly, what were you doing three weeks out?

Well I ran...and thought I had good cardio....but was real nervous and I gave everything I had in the 1st round...then the middle of 2nd round came and I was dead.....

biggest thing I can recommend for your fight is to relax...bc I think thats the hardest thing...if you are not relaxed you may forget about technique

Now I am working up to 5 miles EVERY day...so cardio cardio cardio

3 Weeks before I was training hard...weight lifting...sparring hard...running...etc...

Not sure about from a MMA pov, but from a MT pov I would train up to the 3rd day from the fight. Can a sweat on 2 days from it and then from then on just chill and relax

You aren't going to get any fitter, stronger or better by training during those days (from a week out even). Maybe mentally go through what you need to do, but nothing that invloves breaking a sweat

Relaxing is easier said than done but I do see myself as a calm fighter in general tersm when it comes to style. I'm definitely not a wildman

when did you start to cut down your training? Like I said I felt I would have peaked if he still went with the original date but they moved it three weeks later......

Won't you burn out if you're training up to 3 days out of a fight? But I guess that's how MT is... I don't wanna be "overtrained"

We're fighting 2 rounds of 10 minutes each...

I've fought in the amateurs for muay thai, and won the national muay thai championships this year 81kg

If there are any Pro MMA fighters here i'd like some advice
