Off Days???

Recently I starting training in Muay Thai. I try to train 3 or 4 days a week so I don't over do it or burn out. In the first three weeks I have been constantly sore and already had a groin pull that put me out of the gym for a few days. I'd like to improve my cardio conditioning and flexibilty.

What would you all recommend to do on days off from MT training to help my conditioning?

Thanks in advance.

Newb in need of advise.

I'm a fan of jumping rope. It will improve your conditioning and will improve your foot speed/ foot work

For someone brand new to the sport? Running (aerobic base), skipping (same, plus footwork) and shadow boxing. Once your body starts adjusting and you aren't super sore anymore, add weights and HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training, check that FAQ).

Once you got the basics of strength and conditioning (you can run 2 miles in under 20 minutes, BP your body weight, do some pullups etc.) I highly, HIGHLY recommend checking out www.rossboxing.com or rosstraining.com . "Never Gymless" and "Infinite Intensity" are great.

Thanks for the input. I'll have to check out Rosstraining too.

My cardio seems to be slowly improving and I've lost a couple pounds too. Now I have to put your advice to work.

In addition to the other advice you've received, I'd recommend adding swimming to your conditioning.
