Non-Committed workout partner

My partner never wants to work out anymore and has become lazy, so I have decided to stop working out with him. I used him as a motivational factor, but not anymore. Now, I cnanot find a new partner soon, so I'll be stuck by myself. What can I do to stay motivated by myself? Thanks.

Finding a dedicated workout partner is very hard at times. I'd say make sure you write down your times/weights works good but also mix up your work as much as possible. If you are doing the same thing over and over you may find yourself get bored and quit easier but if you keep adding and changing things then the workout itself becomes interesting and keeps you coming back.

Why do you need a workout partner to stay motivated? just remember you are training for yourself not for him. Progression should be all the motivation you need

Having a training partner as dedicated as you are is great, however, they're few and far between. Do you train at a gym? My guess would be that dominating anyone you train with could be pretty good motivation. And if you can't dominate them, your motivation should be the thought of eventually surpassing their strength and abilities.

For sure man, don't let lack of a good training partner hinder your own abilities!

Agreed

80% of all my training throughout my life: weights or conditioning, was alone..though, I am more of an introvert (in the sense of: groups of people do not Recharge my drained emotional capacities, rather "free / chill / alone" time, does).

When I have had a Good workout partner, its always very beneficial, especially when I was learning new lifts (deads etc, back in the beginning).

Though, what you are going through typically happens: workout partners drop off, slack off, flake whatever.

Point: I feel far more efficient, and move quicker (thanks ADD) working out by myself. Cardio or something, sure its more nice to chat, but I enjoy focusing all my energy into weight training While doing weights..so, why worry about distractions.
