no strenuous exercise for 2 weeks?

Hello all this is my first post here. I look forward to contributing to this forum as well as reading what others have to say.
I am an amateur boxer and recently had tymanoplasty surgery(1 day surgery to patch a hole in the ear drum). The doctor says no strenuous exercise for 2 weeks.
How would you guys recommend me going about these 2 weeks while minimizing my conditioning and strength losses? Would it really hurt for me to workout after this type of surgery??

Take the time to heal that ear properly. The doc says 2 weeks off, take it. View this time as your recovery break. Do you really want to risk your good hearing for the rest of your life?

Go for some walks, do some light stretching, engage in some restorative techniques. Then hit the weight fresh and refueled

i always go wit yoga when i get a dr saying no heavy workouts. it realy does help keep some of your stregth. If you go to a class you get the added bonus of seeing some flexible ladies in tight things. so it's win win

Good god don't fuck with things like hearing (and lower back).
Do what the doc said and have a rest. 2 weeks won't do anything detrimental and if you were beasting it before the injury you'll come back stronger then before (after the 3 or so session phasing in period)

2-4 weeks seems like a long time but hey its your health and I'll tell you when you 40 you'll wish you took it easy. Eat clean 6 days a week and take 3 weeks off and you'll find that after a couple of weeks you'll be back inshape and more importantly rested. If your a boxer I bet a month off wouldn't hurt you.... I always tend to over training so I when I'm in a groove I have to schedule rest days. One month off to care for your body and maybe find out what is important to you and come back strong.... Check out a couple of books from the library about sports physiology or elite coaches etc.. Your mind is your greatest weapon!
