Nike Air Neo 180
http://www.finishline.com/store/resu...lick%20Deals**
First, I wanted to let people know about this deal I saw. Second, I want to know if anyone has any experience with these shoes. I am planning to buy running shoes sometime soon, but won't need them for the next month or so due to weather here. I plan to use the same sure for LSD and sprinting, though I am hoping to be doing more sprinting.
Any thoughts?

Nikes as running shoes suck in general. It's probably a good deal but you would be much better off going to a dedicated running store and figure out what time of arch you have and get fitted for some (probably ugly) asics, brooks, saucony, new balance or similar type of brand. This will be much better for your feet, shins, and back in the long run.

My brother runs marathons, running is his life. The number of shoes in our closet would make any girl jealous, 90% of them Nike. So I'm going to go ahead and disagree with wrestleben on "Nike's suck". I'll ask him about those shoes tonight and get back to ya.

Thanks guys. If not for this deal I was planning to go with some Asics. Wrestleben, any suggestions for big name stores that are good for fitting (dick's, foot locker, finish line, etc.)?
That'd be great if your brother has experience with these shoes, thanks.

Quiggly, I almost think you are agreeing with Wrestleben in that what makes a good running shoe is the fit and application to the given event. Meaning, Nike's are good for some, Asics for some, Saucony for some. Lightweight is better for some, wide for some, heavy tread for some, etc. I agree, having experience with many different brands, as a whole, Nike seems to be geared more for fashion, than actual running. That being said, there's nothing that would prevent a pair of Nike's from being the best shoe for a given person.
The best thing to do would be to try them on and walk around in them before just buying over the internet when you plan to put a lot of miles on them. Just my .02

screw the big chain stores. find a local store that is for runners. chances are they will be trained to fit and will actually know the products. if you have all ready been running take a old pair of your shoes. you can tell by the tread wear how you run.
when you find a good pair go ahead and buy 2. the manufacturers change their shoes so much its ridiculous.
a good shoe is key. i screwed up and went cheap, and i have been struggling with planta fasciitis and heel spurs for it. it also screw up my achilis.
each shoe is deferent and some works great for some but not for others. i had all ways heard that New Balance was great for runners. but they sucked for me. rubbed blisters on my heel and instep. asics didnt last long enough for me, the sole seperated long before the shoe wore out, i have all ways had good luck with nike and i have a pair of addidas im using now that seems to be good.

Thanks, liquid! I actually found a couple very close to my house that I think I'm going to check out this weekend.

Yes. A $50 running shoe, on sale from $110, is still a $50 running shoe.
Try Brooks. Or Saucony. Or New Balance.
