New To Mma

I have been a fan of UFC since it started and I finally decided to get into the training of Mixed Martial Arts. I am only in my second week, but I am hooked! I had a 16 month old son and a new wife that kept me busy for the last 2 years and I got out of shape. I now am back into the physical grind and am excited about learning all aspects of MMA (Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Ju-jitsu, Grappling). I have some boxing experience, military training and a few years of wrestling experience, but that training was nothing compared to that of MMA. I was sore for a week. I was wondering when some of you first started, about how long did it take for you to adjust and to feel comfortable with it? I overdid it so much in my second class that I could barely keep my arms up for a few days. It felt like both of my rotator cuffs were torn. BUT I LOVE IT!

I've been training for about 3 weeks now and my body is still not used to it. I've talked to a lot of guys and they all told me they are always sore or hurt in some way.. That is just how the sport is. You will feel better each week though as you train, that is how i'm feeling now.

I had kickboxing training last night and I feel much better than last week. The pain and soreness is gone and I'm feeling stronger already. I have to say the toughest exercise I've done so far are Pyramid Kicks. That is a tough exercise, but I know I'll adjust within a week or so. Grappling is on Thursday and I can't wait.
