New conditioning/strength article for fighters from t-mag

http://www.t-nation.com/readTopic.do...dra?id=1462189

Nothing revolutionary in the article but still a good read and program I think.

Opinions?

Not that I've tried it, but I think the general sentiment here is that his training is kinda impractical and not as geared to MMA as, say, a Ross Enamait routine. I'd say one would be better off using a Ross periodization scheme from Infinite Intensity.

gave it a shot for a while. im back to lsd, hiit and heavy lifting for strength and conditioning. imo, programs that try 2 combine too much or get too specific dont work.

Yeah I'd have to agree. II is the standard for combat athletes in my opinion.

I love all of CW's programs except his MMA programs. I really like to keep my cardio and loaded work seperate. Running+ Sparring/Pad Work has never failed to get me ready for competiton...cardio wise.

To Waterbury's credit I'm currently using his 10x3 routine for fat loss and it's pretty solid. I agree that I've found his straight up lifting advice and strategies to be fairly sound, like his emphasis on antagonistic training and such. It's just really hard to best Ross when it comes to combat specifics.

I agree. 10 x 3 is great. I also used his hypertrophy program to get ready for a cruise. It's good too.
