Needing help with pushups.

I just have a quick question:
Currently i am getting in the routine of 3 times a week and Muay Thai 2-3 times a week.
My problem is that after 10 pushups my arms feel like dead weight and i dont know how to combat this.

Should i be doing a certain amount every day
Or 3 times a week and gradually building up from there add 2 or so on every 2nd workout ?
Thanks

The way to get better is to keep doing them.

Some ideas:

When you are watching TV in the evening, do a set every commercial break. If you are watching a baseball game do a set at the top of each inning. 2 hours of TV gets you 10-12 sets.

Do a set at the top of each hour. Even if you are an office dweller, you can do this. It takes <30 seconds depending on number of reps. Dive under your desk or ditch into an empty conference room/office. If anybody asks, tell them this is your version of the 'coffee break'.

Work it into some daily routine. Take the morning for instance: turn off alarm:do a set, start coffee:do a set, pack lunch: do a set, feed dog:do a set, brush teeth:do a set, relieve self:do a set then hit shower. 6 sets in 15 minutes.

Each week try upping the number of reps per set by 5 until you get to your goal.

Push ups are the kind of exercise you can do every day. Plus they can be done just about every where (appropriate).

Do them in the morning and at night if you have to.

Mixicus offered some really good advice. I suggest you follow it.

Good luck man, just keep doing them.
