need tips

Ok, I am fairly new to MMA, and I have asked around about conditioning. So far my record in all my MMA matches is 3-1. I am really good at submissions and i have knockout power, but there is one problem. I lack the endurance to keep up. the guy i lost to i outweighed by 5-7 lbs, but he had endurance like no other,

I hear Running builds endurance, which i do alot, but i also heard swimming laps does it better.... Which actually works better? or does it depend on the person training?

what kind of "running" are we talking about? if you stick to HIIT (high-intensity interval training, basically sprints and what not) then i dont see how you could go wrong
