NEED to lose weight---Medium Read

Ok...I usually wouldn't post something like this anywhere, but I have trust my fellow Sherdoggers can help me.

I weigh 285 pounds, 5'6" as of right now. Honestly, I feel so light on my feet I didn't actually know I weighed so much. However every calculator says I have a BMI of 46.0 which is Obese as hell. I don't eat fast food nor too many fattening foods and I don't think my workout plan is good to lose weight, because I don't have one...

If anything else is needed to help me out, just post it here. I am willing to stick to all workout regimen you guys suggest.

And please, don't say some answer just to get your post count

Thank You.

Edit:It looked so much longer when I was typing it o.O

everyone is going to tell you to read the stickies, for you diet and supp and conditioning stickies are the most important.

It is really quite simple, eat less exercise more. start walking, at that wieght i doubt you can run for long. you want to start walking for about 30mins at least 3 days a week preferably more. increasing duration untill you hit about an a hour and intensity untill you are running (at least for parts at the begining).

dedication is the key. you are going to have to want it. adding a weight program will help aswell, i dont know anything about lifting to lose weight tho ha.

Thank you and I hope you look back at this post haha, could use your help since you literally started off the same as me. I just wanted to know like, your workout schedule when you did it and what types of food you ate so I could go shopping on the weekend.

P.S.
thechief - Thank you for your advice, I will definitely start doing what you said tomorrow as I just got home from a banquet and am going to get some rest.

you're welcome, well i just took a bunch of workouts from online and put together what i want..i did this thing call the "deck of cards" i would pull out a card from the deck and each symbol has a super set of 3-4 exercises and whatever number there is i'd do that many reps of each exercise..if i chose a jack, queen, king, ace, or joker then i'd do 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 reps of each exercise of whatever super set there is according to the symbol..i did every super set w/o rest for at least 15 cards and tried to get through at least a quarter of the deck each day..i did these workouts in d morning until early afternoon..you should read up the conditioning forum and the strength and power forum..it helped me

for food i just ate whatever i usually ate but cut down on fat and carbs and ate small portions for each of the 6 meals..i ate a lot of veggies and protein rich food (chicken for example) and only a cup of rice maybe less..read up on the diet & supps forum here on sherdog thats where i learned a bunch of stuff and still learning until now

1) 5'6" AND 285 pounds? Jesus.

2) Good that you wanna lose weight. Don't worry about supps and stuff though right off the bat. At this stage of your life right now, in your shape, you are at the dramatic change phase. Anything you do is going to affect you quickly. Just eating a bit less and working out a bit more is going to make you shed weight very quickly.

Lifting weights and doing some basic cardio is going to work wonders. The more muscle you have, the more calories you burn just sitting around. The more cardio you have, the longer you can work out without getting tired. Ergo, do both.
