My legs ALWAYS hurt after running

Hello everyone, this is my first post in this forum.

I've been trying to get back into fighting...no, let me correct that, at least TRAINING shape lately and every time I run, my upper thighs feel destroyed. I'm not even running that far, maybe a mile or two for now.

I know my form is right and I'm not slamming my legs down when I move, but it seems pretty consistent.

I ran track in high school and never felt this wrecked after a practice. When I started I had similar feelings, but they went away after a few weeks.

Any suggestions?

maybe you're running too hard too soon since you're just getting back into it. Take it slow.

Warmup and stretch properly. Don't just put your running shoes on and run cold..

are you doing warm ups before you train? this happened to me before, and what halped me was stretching before and after, and doing leg weight excersises, like squats. i dont know if this is the best way, but i found this way to solve my problem. hitting the weights seemed to help me the most to prevent my legs from hurting after running. but obviously if you work out your lower legs then you shouldn't go for a run after.

I usually spend about five minutes stretching properly. Should I be running slower or power walking? I keep a pretty decent pace right now.

Well I wouldn't know how fast your run...so basically find a pace where you feel you're not over exerting yourself.

Also, try doing dynamic stretching before you run (Don't hold the stretches and stop if you feel pain) and afterwards, properly cool down with static stretching.

Pain or it feels like lactic acid is building up?

Maybe you're stretching too much or too hard. Skip the stretching and try doing dynamic stretching and see if it makes a difference.

It's soreness more than anything. I find myself walking different after running for at least 2 days.

Run more often, it's probably just DOMS and will go away the more you run
