Losing the beer gut
I quit lifting and running a year ago, started drinking all the time. Gained about 30 pounds. Now I lost 10 of that since I started doing sprinting and running on a strict basis. I don't want to lift and be huge anymore, but I want to be strong with my own bodyweight, so im doing alot of pushups and barbell complexes also, and ab work. Is there any tips to losing this? Put it this way, I look like a pear almost right now, upside down. My love handles are like chuck liddells x 10. Its not TOO bad, but its definently obvious I have packed on a solid ring around my midsection, especially the love handles. Any tips?

There are really just three things that will get rid of the beer gut:
Consistent training - Make sure that you are training effectively and consistently, not in an erratic manner. You don't have to be doing 10 sessions per week, but however many you do make sure that there's always at least 3-4 good sessions each week. This needs to be kept up with no breaks for as long as possible.
Eating clean - My trainer had the phrase "it it walked or grew you can eat it" which roughly means that you want heaps of lean foods with a lot of colourful fruti and vegies. Just removing sugar and alcohol can do wonders. Once again, be consistent or it won't work for you.
Time - Getting rid of fat around your midsection takes time, and there's nothing you can do about it. It's the first place to put fat on, and the last to leave so just concentrate on eating clean, working hard and being consistent for a long period of time.
Hope this helps.

My Diet habits caused me to change alot the way I look before I just looked buly but now since I cut down on crappy food whith too much fat I can see my abs and my shoulders are actually more defined. Start with your diet it makes a HUGE DIFFERENCE.

I eat pretty clean. Alot of steamed frozen vegetables, eggs, oatmeal, and steak.
i've been doing just straight running, complexes (randy coutures routine showed in google video), and conditioning routines that involve, 200 pushups, 40x3 sets of flutter kicks, 10x3 sets of reg pilate situps, 40x sets of bicycle kicks, 10x3 burpees, in a circuit kind of.
I guess I have to really crack down on my diet.. But I hate dieting too hard cause my blood sugar always gets fucked up..

Patience and persistence are huge factors. I've lost about 50 pounds in the past year but was aiming to lose a pound or two a week.
If you're going balls to the wall with your diet and exercise because you're in a frenzy to lose a lot of weight NOWNOWNOW there's a danger you'll get tired of all the self-denial and hard work, say "fuck this" and slide back into your old habits. I think it's better to try to establish a routine that's productive but manageable and just focus on sticking with it.
Good luck.
