I noticed when doing burpees for instance (among other workouts) the "jumping/hopping" part is the hardest. I cant seem to understand why. Why is something simple as jumping 1-2 feet off the ground so rough on your body (cardio wise)? Im sure theres an easy answer and Im just not thinking about it. THANKS AGAIN GUYS.

Fighting gravity = hard
The worse shape you're in, the harder it is - that's why you do that part and not just a little jogging in place.
Ever compare jumping rope (leaving the ground with both feet every time) vs skipping rope (trad. boxing style rope work)? Jumping is way harder on joints, muscles, and cardio.

Fuck you very much, now I'm going to have to try burpees with a rollout on a barbell. I really hate it when you guys come up with better ways to torture myself.
