effects of Delta 9 Tetra Hydro Cannibinol in training and competition.
I read an article in High Times about how Eddie Bravo smokes weed and so does Joe Rogan, they say it helps them train cuz they get a better flow. Im not into MMA or Boxing seriosuly but Ive boxed high many times and I love how it actually feels so much more "put together" and smooth. Though Rogan and Bravo started smoking at a different age then me like in there 20's and 30's so they get a different buzz than me. I never wrestled or grappled high unless i was baked and in a street fight and you count that but anyways with out getting off track.
I got a few questions just because Id like to hear some opinions.
1. How much do you think it affects your cardio? Is it really as bad as cigs, I dont believe so but thats just my opinion. i think it plays a small part in detering your cardio but not that bad.
2. What do you think about the mental aspect of being on it while training or competing? Does it give you an advantage or disadvantage? Personally I think it could go either way depending on circumstances.
3. What do you think about penalizing athletes who smoke but not before fights but like Diaz, or even Nakamura recently. Although Nak's suspension till december and $500 wasnt even a slap on the wrist.
Oh and this isnt a debate on whether it should be legal i live in canada i could give a fuck less half our cops toke up. I want to know what you guys think about how it affects training and if it limits your potential.

Sounds like a sugar coated explanation to me. I'm sure those two like to smoke up because they just like to get high, nothing wrong with that IMO.

I think it could be just as bad for you as cigs depending upon how frequently you smoke it, you are after all inhaling smoke into your lungs.

IME, I can't see how this would help me during training. When I'm high I feel lethargic, lazy, and weak, not exactly things I would want during training or competition.

If it's illegal then yeah, they should be fined.

IT sounds like you're kind of fishing for us to say it's ok to smoke weed and that it won't harm your progress in the gym. I'm not going to tell you what to do, but in my experience getting high was fun but I can't say it helped me with anything other than getting high and laughing at stupid shit.

Well for what it's worth, I haven't competed/trained at the level that Eddie Bravo has. I've trained with a lot of guys who like to smoke up A LOT and they were still really good athletes.

All my opinions are personal experience only.
1)Fucks with cardio, as "tar" can build-up in lungs.
2)If you plan to fight stoned, train stoned.
3)It's stupid to fine athletes for using recreational drugs if they're not being used during competition
bottom line, try it out. if you like it and it doesn't affect you negatively, then go nuts

Get a vaporizer and you won't have to worry about the smoke.

I used to get high and train, i stopped and my game improved leaps and bounds, cardio improved tons, and my whole life improved.
Not worth it on a daily basis, maybe as a random indulgence. Save it for after training if it's an every day thing.

Everything seems like a good idea when I'm stoned.

1) Tar is from cigarrettes not weed.
I'm fairly sure the lung damage isn't as bad as cigs, but it sure isn't good. I have no problems with recreational use, but I can't imagine your going to be a phenom because you smoke up before you roll.

Yeah, that's how I understood it. Weed is purer so the plaque buildup isn't as bad.
