INTENSE ITCHING while jogging...?

Hey guys. I recently started jogging and find that after about a mile or two I get an INTENSE itching in my abdomen and sometimes inside thighs. Im not a fat guy... pretty lean at 5'11" and 160 lbs. This itching gets so intense it gets painful and stops me from jogging longer. My legs and lungs are still good to go but the itching kills me. Any help?

You're probably chaffing. Try some astroglide or something like it. Chaffing can happen to people who aren't necessarily overweight.

Astroglide? Never heard of it.... sorry for my newbiness. It feels like its an internal thing... like an itch from just under the skin.

I remember an old thread on this... "itchy lovehandle syndrome". Lots of people get it, yet nobody seems to have any idea what the hell it is. Have you tried wearing tighter clothes? Maybe compression will help.

might not be it, but sometimes if you start working out after a long time off your pores will expunge all the dirt and oil and whatnot that is locked inside causing itching...it should go away after a couple of workouts.
btw astroglide is for sex, not workouts, i may recommend gold bond body powder on the affected regions.

could be something as simple as dry skin, when I have dry skin it starts to itch like crazy when I start to sweat.

Its caused by having hard water and dry skin, or the fabric that you are wearing

Are you sure you don't have poison ivy? herpes? staff? crabs? ringworm? jock-itch?

Baby powder, anti-fungal creme, crab shampoo, and a trip to the doctor may be in store for you.
