Increasing Cardio w/HR as a guide
I'm trying to increase my cardio cuz it SUCKS!! Right now I'm injured, so rolling is out of the question so I'm trying to maintain & increase my cardio. I'm using a Polar HR Monitor, and the general recomendation is 70-80% of Max HR for Cardio. Anyone know the general length of workout for improvement?? I know for fat loss, 30 min or more is rec. for any effect. Is it the same for cardio??
I've been trying to do 25-30 min in the 75% range for cardio, then another 20-30 min around 65% for fat loss. I'm trying to do this 4-6 times a week as my schedule allows. Sometimes I'll substitute the cardio routine for some interval training at near 90% Max HR for two min then drop down for two min and so on.
This seem like a reasonable routine??
