this is going to sound silly but do alot of L,S,D's and no I don't mean the drugs it's short for lond slow distence runs start at two miles and go for about 35-40 min's for a week then up it a mile every week till you get to about six miles in about an hour an half and mix in some sprints for about 30 seconds or try eating more carb's the day before class.

Grappling cardio is completely different from any other type of cardio.

This is what my problem was. I was similar to you, thought I was in good shape, running, bodyweight stuff, gym work etc, but when I would grapple I would just get totally gased. I changed my cardio work slightly, but the main thing I did when grappling was learn to breath properly. Continuous relaxed breathing rather than holding your breath everytime you try and pull a move. It made a huge difference for me anyway.

When I first started grappling, I was the same way. I was always getting tired and gassing, and I was in pretty good shape. I think you just have to get used to grappling. If you have been grappling for awhile though, it could be that you are either overtraining or that you need to add some high intensity cardio to your program. Research HIIT, it's very good.

I would look at your diet . With being in the gym five days a week then your mma training on top of that u would need to make sure u are eating and sleeping enough . Your only as strong as your weakest link.
