I'm a Fat, Weak, Clueless Bastard

Thought this would make a good first post. I'm 5'9" and about 260. Yeah, I know. I just recently started training BJJ three times a week, so that's helping me out. I'm eating way cleaner than I used to. I'm training again. I have about 4 years of kickboxing training, so the martial arts aren't anything new to me. I happen to own II and the Warriors Guide from rossboxing, com, never been nearly ready for them though. Yesterday I did a GPP workout that looked like this:

30 seconds Burpees
30 seconds Jump Rope
30 seconds Mountain Climbers

Needless to say my performance was pathetic. I was just curious as to whether or not anyone could advise me on how to ease myself into the kind of training I need to be doing. This time last year I weighed about 180, then I got put on bi-polar medication and got even more fucked up in the head. Much better now though, which is why I'm putting effort into my body again. So I guess flame on and thanks in advanced for the help.

Start with cardio intensive routine 5-6 days/week and watch your caloric intake (lean meats, lots of cruciferous vegetables, low fat).

IMO burpees and II aren't for you until your body wakes up (metabolically, hormonally) from this state it is in right now.

Here's what I did today:

2 X 4 minute rounds of Jump Rope (poorly)
3 X 4 minute rounds of shadow boxing

2 Circuits of the following:
8 bent over rows
8 overhead presses
8 goodmornings
8 squats
8 deadlifts

I only made it about 2 1/3 times through the circuit and then thought I would hurl. Should I puke and continue? I was aiming for 3-5 circuits. Would be doing this 6 days a week work?

Complexes like that are a very good start. Keep at them and not only will your endurance rocket up, but the fat will melt off in weeks (assuming you're eating right).

At 260 I'm guessing running isn't quite your cup of tea, so I'd suggest getting a bike and putting some miles in - this will cover your aerobic base for now and will greatly aid in shedding the pounds. In a short while you can start running, and then you're on the straightaway to becoming a conditioning machine. There are a few excellent beginner running routines in the FAQ.
