I'm a fat ass with no endurance. I need help.

I used to be an offensive tackle at a smaller Div-I university until a series of stupid injuries made me fed up and I quit football. After a long lay off, not paying attention to what I eat and not exercising regularly, pretty much being a lazy asshole, I have lost quite a bit of my muscle to fat and now am in realy bad shape, in general, and in terms of my endurance. I get winded really easily. I need to get back in shape, especially since I've been getting more and more into Martial Arts, and will be taking some classes in the summer. I weigh in at about 300, I'm 5'10". I really don't look like I'm 300, because I still have a got amount of base muscle. I'm only 21, so my metabolism can get back on track quickly. I just want to get into the kind of shape that I would need to be so I can best get into some BJJ and Muay Thai.
Any tips you guys can give would be a great help, be they diet, exercise programs, or anything. I really need it.

Heres how I went from 250lbs to 185 in 4-5 months:

sleep depravation: I used to work the overnight shift at office depot and I'd only sleep like 4-6 hours a night cept weekends where I slept like 14 hours

exercise: I ran 4 miles every other day, 2 miles between those days

Starvation: I only ate breakfast

I lost weight fast as hell.

I'm planning on dropping my calorie intact, cutting it about in half. I've heard that you should only drop your intake about 250 calories a day, so that your metabolism doesn't drop off drastically. I'll probably start tomorrow, eating mostly fruits and protiens and some carbs. Cutting down to my desired caloric intake by thursday. I'm going to not eat after 6 o'clock, so that food doesn't just sit in my stomache while I sleep.
As for the sleeping thing, I think I'm going to try to get 8 hours as much as I can.

Unless this stuff is completely off, I guess the only think I need help with is getting my exercise and endurance is order. Just so you know what I have at my disposal, me university has a nice rec center with a weight room, treadmills, stationary bikes, and weight machines. I have a small weight set at my apartment that I have had forever, but it consists of two adjustable dumbbells and a bar, but I only have about 80lbs in plates right now.
Once again, any help would be great.

dude trying to lose weight:

DO NOT FOLLOW THIS ADVICE!

this is for idiots...

you aren't an idiot are you?

for starters, you played football so you know how to get your ass up in the morning right? get up and jog in the morning first thing, before breakfast when glycogen levels are low, and then lift in the afternoon...

you know what to do man, you just need a push off the couch...

well here it is:

GET THE FUCK UP AND LOSE WEIGHT DUDE!!!

Wow you are really looking for a good roast eh?

Ur an idiot (nothing people dont know on here)

First off starvation is not a way to lose weight. Its stupid and dangerous. You need energy (food) to burn fat.... you eat good food and exercise ull lose weight. Change your diet up to incorporate lots of vegetables and fruits which will flush out your system. Food likes Beans are excellent because of the protein and no fat. If your looking to have a heart attack starve yourself and keep exercising.

Next sleep depravation is the last thing you want to do. Its acutally one of the dumbest things ive ever heard. Maybe he still thinks the world is flat too? You need rest, escpecially when exercing to let the body heal... also without sleep it will mess around with your metabolism and u may actually put on weight.

Oh I do, he's honest and i admire that he is wanting to change. I just hope he doesn't follow BBW's advice. I am no nutrition expert, but even I know that is soo bad for your body.
