I need weight cutting advice

I am 6' 240lbs. Not fat. How much time should I give myself to get down to 205lbs and how should I go about it. without losing much strength and energy for a fight?

Give yourself about 2 months minimum....

Strict diet and cardio, don't worry about strength unless you got a fight coming up.

Stop eating sugar and limit amount of carbs you injest. Also do not eat at night after 7pm. Run on the treadmill for 20 - 30 min a day and you will lose weight. Also cut out all fruit juices and sugary drinks from the diet. Only liquid you should drink is water or tea.. If you need flavor squeeze some lemon or lime.

Eating before you go to sleep makes you gain weight becuase you dont burn many calories while sleeping. And the digestion process takes longer because your laying down which leads to weight gain. 7PM was a hypothetical time assuming he goes to sleep at around 10pm.

Thanks for the tips. How much water weight should I expect to lose in the final 2-3 days leading up to the fight? What should I way a week prior to the fight? The guys in my gym are all in lower weight classes and are not cutting as much weight so I am not getting great advice there.

Additional cardio never hurts, it may just make the difference between win or lose!
