I have had a revelation about my training.
It is bullshit. Yes that is my revelation. I weight train 5 days a week, sometimes not as hard as I can. I do a 3 mile run 4 or 5 days a week. I spar and work on technique not as much as I can.
In the schedule that I have made I skip a lot of things, which has to stop. All of this bullshit I am to tired nonsense, or the 'my grappling I think is good enough plus I am tired today so can skip grappling today' garbage has to come to a stop. I am not training as hard as can and it is gonna change.
My weightraining has been going alright and I have gotten a lot stronger recently but it is not enough. I am sick of telling my I am too tired or I wouldn't have this attitude in fight shit. I tell myself, 'yeah my grappling is alright so I'll skip that today', but then I tell myself 'just because I skipped grappling today does not mean it will happen when I fight'. All of this will catch up to me which is why I am stopping it.
As of today I will never use the excuses that this or that is where it needs to be, or my cardio is good enough to where I can skip a day, or my grappling, striking, etc.
It is time to turn it up permanently. I will still take 2 rest days a week, but no more of this I don't feel like doing whatever garbage.
Things are about to pickup ion my training. I felt the need to get this off my chest. So there you have it.

Lift only 2 or 3 times a week.

Congrats on your revelation...but be forewarned...sometimes you need to "pick it up" but sometimes you need to "slow it down"...this whole process is a continuing learning process about yourself and the training...progess over the long haul is more preferable to me than using will power to motovate and push yourself (which definitely has its place) to try to be perfect at all times which can lead to "beating yourself up" and self-defeating behavior...

Agreed. To each his own, but in my view the best point to be at is where you don't need to force anything, it just flows out of a genuine want/need to work out. Redlining is important in preparation for an imminent fight but keep it up longterm it's gonna grind you down. I don't know anything about your specific situation, but my advice would be to assess the reasons for your perceived laziness - cranking up the effort isn't always an infallible solution.

Your probably overtraining. Unless your a juiced bodybuilder or lifting is all you do, weights 5 times a week is stupid if your also running 4-5 times a week + grappling + striking on top of that. 2 days/ week is enough, 3 max. You might need to rethink your routine

I have been told that a lot so I think tht is what I will do. I am gonna cut down on the weights to 3 maybe even 2 days a week. I am not that strong but I think I will gain more from grappling and striking than from weightlifting. So thanks for the advice, I really appreciate it.

Awesome. Sounds like a lot of people, in all walks of life, need to come to a similar revelation.
