hyperextended elbow

I hyperextended my elbow yesterday in bjj class while falling back. I dont think its too serious, the pain is not sharp enough to be a tear and goes away almost completely when I don't move it for a while. Right now i have it wrapped up with a ace bandage. Any ideas on when I will be able to start trainning again, or tips on getting it to heal faster?

If you're sure it's actually hyperextended (did you hear a 'click' sound?), then all you can really do is take anti-inflammatories (Advil) and reduce the movement. Should be good to go in a week or less, but only you'll know when it's ready (if it's sore when fully extended that's normal, but if it hurts that's a problem)... of course, I'm not a doctor.

If it hurts and you still want to train have someone tape it. You should tap it so you can't bend it straight. Just look up on the internet how to tape an elbow. Worked for me when I fucked my elbows up.

ok, it's been two weeks after I hyperentended it. All the soreness is long gone and it feels almost normal. I have full range of motion and I can extend it all the way with little discomfort. But, I'll still get a sharp pain if my elbow is extended all the way and slight pressure is put on it to bend the wrong way. It's been like this for more than a week with no progress. Is it time to see a doctor?
