Hri?

Just read the interval article from 8weeksout and was wondering if anybody has any oher examples of HRI training other than incline sprints and car push?

Would any barbell training be sufficient given the guidelines of 10-12 seconds and not crossin the anaerobic threshold with 140 bpm for rest?

Did a search by the way. Thanks

Dunno, I asked Joel a similar question and he never answered (weighed burpees) so I ended up sprinting uphill with my bike. It wasn`t too bad.

I was actually wondering if doing GNP with heavy gloves and some resistance cords can be considered

Wait a sec, wouldn`t the heavy gloves help you pulling on the resistance cords?

^ it won't

the cord would make it harder to throw a punch since you're working with resistance

You need fairly high resistance for these to be the most effective so trying to use weighted skill movements, like punching with weighted bands or gloves for instance, isn't the right approach. If you were to use enough resistance to make them effective, you'd end up having to use terrible technique and this can have negative ramifications for your skill. When using the HRI method you want to use the same general muscle groups as MMA, but don't try to just add weight to a skill.

You can use barbell exercises like jump squats or bodyweight exercises like explosive push-ups, etc. if you make sure to get the resistance right. I wouldn't use weighted burpees because if you used enough resistance it would be too hard on your joints. Sprints uphill on a bike were a better choice.
