HR in Morning Cardio

I've been avoiding HIIT and other HR intense cardio in the morning because I've had a hard time getting my HR up to the same level that it gets to in afternoon workouts.

It would be a lot easier for me to train Cardio in the morning and lifting in the PM, so I'd like to figure out how I could do it.

Is the HR what's important or the effort exerted?

Advantages of HIIT would also continue throughout the day and burn more calories, right?

If you HIIT in the evening, are some of the advantages (at least some of those concerning weight loss) lost as the body returns to the lower HR/****bolism of the sleep state?

Don't focus too much on HR. I like to use a RPE scale and go more by feel. HR is a little too broad because a fitter person will have to work much harder to get their heart rate up.

The thing I don't like about doing HIIT in the evening is that it's sometimes tough for me to get to sleep.

Scheduling becomes an issue as well. If HIIT in the morning suits your needs, then stick with it.

First thing in the morning, no way. But if I give myself an hour and have a cup of Joe, I can make it.

If I drink coffee in the morning and then try to do cardio I feel like crap. At best I can hit up the hot green tea.

I agree with Sonny. Effort is more important than HR. Just give it 100% and you'll be fine.

I've actually found it works either way, I do very hard conditioning drills to the point of lethality sometimes at night, and if its on the weekend usually mid-morning. Usually every few days, and after each time I feel like a million bucks and it usually lasts for a couple days when the diet is straight, then I do it again. I've really noticed no difference, so long as the work gets put in.

I find it nearly impossible to do HIIT in the morning. I think it's good if you can do it early but my body just doesn't seem to feel energetic until I've had time to wake up and properly digest food.
