How does you lose water weight?

I've been reading on these boards for quite some time now that fighters lose all the water before weigh-ins and then put it back on strait after, i really don't understand what you guys mean when you say this.

Do the fighters jump on the tredmill without drinking water? what do they do if they get thirsty?

Everytime i'm on the tredmill i drink TONS of water because i be tired as hell, am i doing it wrong?

thanks in advance.

the purpose is to drain the water out of your body to the point of dehydration, don't take my word for it but there is a certain threshold you do not go past when cutting weight. so be very careful and get advice from some of the more experienced weight cutters on this forum.. if you are drinking water you are just prolonging the process

A fighter in the UFC for instance that is cutting weight is an elite athlete trying to get an strenght advantage in a profesionall sport, they weigh in the day before an event, dehydrate themselves to get into the "right" weightclass that they have agreed to fight in and then they have 24 hours to rehydrate.

For you just running on an treadmill you have no reason cutting water, as an athlete you want to be hydrated for good training, so dont confuse shit you hear pros do with your own training.

"Do the fighters jump on the tredmill without drinking water? what do they do if they get thirsty?"

They dont give a fuck if they get thirsty, the fact that they are feeling sick, dizzy and feeling like they are going to faint/die is a bit worse than just feeling a bit "thirsty" or because they are hungry...

Avoid consuming salt because it makes your body store extra water.

True there are tons of tricks to cut weight the right way. The few times I have done it I certainly didnt do it right and suffered hell for it.

But seriously as long as this dude understands that you dont cut waterweight when you run on the treadmill or do any training at all besides if you are a day or two out from a fight. Then the thread have served its purpose.

you dont need to cut water unless you are getting ready for a fight and need to be a certain weight. otherwise you will need to be hydrated to train properly and safely.
