How Do You Strengthen Your Shins?

How do you strengthen your shins after having stress fractures after they heal? I want to start running and doing Muay Thai? But I would need them strong so I don't reinjure myself? basically how do I keep them strong

Rest a weight on top of your foot and do toe raises.

No that wont help like what you want to. That will kill the nerves but not help it grow back from my understanding and some testing.

Right now my shin has a lump on it that wont go away. It shrinks down and feels normal if nothing happens for awhile then if something (like a shin) hits it, it swells up a whole whole lot. This has been going on for awhile and ROLLING DOESNT HELP.

If you want to dull the nerves without damaging the shin itself, the best thing to do is hit leather. Repeatedly. This means hitting a heavy bag or thai pads.

This webpage has a few exercises for strengthening the shins in general. You might be surprised to know one of the best ways is to walk on your heels, diverting pressure to the shins.

Find a big hill at least a mile in distance. Walk up and back as often as you can.

running up any hill can help strengthen your shins, or as someone said put weight on your foot and do toe lifts. that helps too.
