how do you periodize running?
I know how to do it with weights...
First, 2-3 months of hypertrophy (6-12 reps per set, 3-6 sets per exercise, 30-60 sec rests)
Then, 2-3 months of muscle endurance (12-30 reps, 2-3 sets, <30 sec rests)
Then, 2-3 months of strength (5 reps or less per set, 3-6 sets, 2-5 minute rests)
Then perhaps a cycle of power lifts (like clean and jerks), and maybe perhaps a cycle of circuit training (one exercise right after the other)....etc....etc....enless possibilities for changing the routine every 2-3 months once your body starts to plateau.
BUT, my question is....How do you do that for running, though? Perhaps running hilly routes for 3 months....then run flat routes for 3 months?
