Just wondering how you guys motivate yourself to go out for a run, go to the gym etc on the days when you really can`t be bothered and you would rather just hang out?
If I'm going to be competeing soon I'll ask myself "What do you think you opponent is doing, drinking beers and getting worse??" If I imagine my opponent training hard it gets me motivated to try hard as well.
If I'm not training, I ask myself simply "Do you want to get better today or not?" If you honestly dont want to get better than fine, but if you answer yes, you know you've got to get out there and work.
And then once I'm training, I continue pushing myself by thinking, "This is fucking awful, but imagine how this will feel when I'm this tired and someone's punching and kicking me" and then I train harder.
I don't think about anything. Ten minutes later my body is doing what it likes to do, which is invariably something instead of nothing. The concept of having to force myself to exercise is about as foreign as having to force myself to chew my food or brush my teeth in the morning.

Training is what I do for fun. I wouldn't do it if I didn't want to.

Stagger into the bathroom to rub one out while telling myself in my best Bas Rutten voice "Your a monster baby! Now hit the gym and show me some Dangida!"
