Is It Hot Where You Run, Too?

So I just got back from a 2.3 mile jog (including steep hills) and I couldn't maintain a steady pace. I had to fartlek it. It's just TOO DAMN HOT.

Summer came on fast out here. To give you a frame of reference, we had our modern-day record two summers ago when it hit 119 degrees (that's down by the river where they measure the temp officially...it was 123-126 for those two weeks up where I live).

Dude, I can barely breathe, it's so hot, and we have almost no humidity and are near to sea level. That's how hot it gets. It makes a 2-miler feel like a 5-miler.

Fuck Red Bluff.

Since it has gotten warmer and the sun has come up, it takes me forever to get going when I am at the BJJ gym. I sit around for 30-45 minutes before changing even. It is difficult to get a good workout in after school becuase it is too hot to go outside and it is like a sauna in the basement storage room where I do most my workout stuff.

Yup I'm from Southern Cali and the weather is forcing me to go to a gym to run. But I plan on going back out soon.

Red Bluff? I live in Florida man. Where the weather resembles sweaty plumber ass-crack. Try doing your cardio here. The humidity is so bad during the summer if you go get something out of your car you have to shower when you go back inside.

i live in canada, in the winter when we train smoke rises off us cause the air around us is so cold even inside my gym, no joke.

You'd be surprised. 92 degrees plus humidity. There's a road down here called Alligator Alley that's treacherous because it's in the middle of nowhere and it's so hot truckers hallucinate and often crash.
