HIIT Questions

I have recently been reading some posts that contradict each other. I am just wondering if there is a general consensus as to which works best (for burning fat, increasing endurance, etc.)

A. 60-90 seconds sprinting then rest until your heartrate returns to 120-140, then repeat.

B. 30 seconds sprinting, then 60 seconds jogging, then 30 seconds sprinting, and repeat.

Fat burning and increasing endurance are two different goals. There are 3 different energy systems and two different components to each one so what type of interval is best depends on the situation. There is no single interval that is "the best" interval to always do just as there is no magic scheme of sets and reps when it comes to strength training that applies universally to everyone all the time. Anyone who tells you there is one method of interval that is what everyone should be doing all the time either doesn't know the difference or is selling something.
