HIIT with a mouthpiece?

If you guys are doing HIIT like sprints/circuit training with weights/burpees, do you do it with a mouthpiece or without?

I always used to do it without a mouthpiece but lately I've been doing it with my mouthpiece in so I can get used to recovering while having to breathe through a mouthpiece (like in a fight). It seems logical to me so your conditioning is more fight specific.

Any opinions?

makes perfect sense to me, the more used to wearing a mouthpiece you are the better.

I usually do circuits with the mouthgaurd a month or two before a fight. The rest of the time I don't because it is annoying.

i think a mix of both is best. Using a mouthpiece all the time may hinder your ability to really push yourself to your limit during a HIIT session

Do it without you won't get the maximum effect of HIIT if you aren't breathing right.

I think its a good idea. I always have mine in while training even if just shadow boxing or jumping rope.

It does help to get used to it. But I also agree that you should practice both with and without as you will derive benefits from both methods.

With respect,

Sohan
