im an ametuer fighter and i train quite often but i wanted to know which stance is better?
i fight ambedextorus and most of my sparring partners are orthodox but i realize the pros and cons to each stance, the reason im asking is im supposed to be fighting in louisianna in like two weeks and im fighting an orthodox fighter so which stance should i use when and if i fight?

Most people who are able to fight from either stance still have one side that they favor, I would say that it is best to start the fight out with the side that you feel most comfortable then change it up to confuse your opponent. Good luck!

You might want to ask this in the Standup Forum. My blanket answer to your question, though, is that nobody can answer it but yourself.

Well, looking from a fighters stand point, if you are good with both your hands, if you consider each stance to be able to deliver and equal amount of power and handle yourself in either postion, if you are fighting an orthodox fighter I would suggest fighting southpaw. Many orthodox fighters have trouble fighting against a southpaw so you might want to take that into consideration.

However, if you are stronger in the normal stance and feel just a tad bit more comfortable I would suggest sticking with that.

develop both, but if you want to confuse and have great defense, then go with the southpaw, thats what i do.
