The running freaks around here load up on carbs like pasta the day before a race. Then have a light protein breakfast like hard boiled eggs (whites) and lots of water.

there is no need for super carbing for a race that takes under one hour

The night before have some good carbs. The day of the race get up at least 2 hours early, and eat something, personally for me it is a bananna, and also some PowerAid or Gatoraid also drink some water. 1 Hour before hand strech and jog/ slowly run about 1500 or 2000 meters. Just relax, go out smart and finish strong. The race is 6.2 miles just remember that.
