Getting Back in Gear After Being Sick

I'm just about to get back on my feet after a crappy 1 week bout with the flu. I know its going to suck getting back into my routine but still looking forward to it.

Any suggestions of how to make the transition easier form a week of sickly bed rest to the dojo and how long should one wait before sparring or rolling with someone ( I don't want to get anyone else sick)

Barney Miller? That's hilarious! Where do you live that has a time machine to the past? Jack Soo Rules!!

Saw the "Borat" movie with a fever and bad stomach I puked and laughed at the same time. No easy feat!

Can't wait to get back in the rhythm.

Try to drink as much water as you can and heat the sauna at the same time.

When it happens to me, I usually take an extra week off, even tough when all symthoms are gone.

I just started off light doing only conditioning on my enversiion bike and doing streching and yoga. Iguess just build up slow, dont thing that yoll be back too where you where before you where sick.

I'm just coming off a week of the flu as well. While I didn't train when the symptoms were pretty bad, I had to play a very intense ice hockey match on the first day where I felt slightly normal.

Although I felt a bit shitty for the first shift, the rest of the match went fine and I didn't even end up doing shorter shifts like I expected to. To top it off, my symptoms after the match were virtually gone - hockey helped cure my cold!

So the moral is that some decent training (HIIT?)could actually be beneficial for you once you're on the mend. I'd stay away from it if you still feel like crap, though.
