get gassed running but recover quickly
often when im halfway through my run (about 2-3k into it) i start feeling really really gassed like i just have to stop or my lungs will burst, so i stop or slow down to a walk, however i find after about 3-4 seconds im not even breathing heavily, hardly sweating and i can continue as if i had hardly run at all.
is this usual or is it all in my head, coz i was thinking if i was really gassed then it would take a bit longer to recover right? or maybe its just like a mental barrier that you have to push through before you get your second wind?
