Got 15! :-)
I know it is not Feb anymore, but I just decided to get serious about lifting and losing weight last week so I decided to try the challenge today.
I weighed in this morning at 278. I warmed up and then loaded up the bar with 283. I have a mix of metric and English weights, but I figured 283 was enough so I just used that.
I started the timer and started doing one at a time. I got to 11 at 4 minutes and then just did 4 in a row with no rest; still on the floor w/dead start though; for a grand total of 15!!! I had on my heart monitor and my heart beat was at 160 and i was done.
I am pretty happy. I was hoping to do 10. I just wanted to gauge where I'm at, so I am happy with the result. I know I have a lot of work to do, but I plan to lose a lot of weight too so maybe I will try this again in 6 months and see what I can do then.
Edit: Oh, I did them with no belt, no straps, no chalk. My gut is too big to use my old belt, I have no chalk, and I broke my old straps last week. I think I will put that story in the "idiot in the gym" thread.
