Effects of Striking

I was wondering (just had first two days of sparring) what are the effects on your muscles of being punched and kicked? I know they felt sore (like I did weights almost) the next day. Does it make them weaker? Softer?

Pain is weakness leaving the body.

I am only half-kidding.

One of these statements is true.

Your muscles feel sore because you have not used them like that before (or atleast, in a while). You will get used to it.

Weaker? Softer? Why would working your muscles hard make them worse off in the long run? If you're not used to sparring you're gonna be a little sore at first, but you'll get used to it.

No, we are tnot tenderizing beef here Balboa =). You and your body will get used to it. Like the first time someone starts football for example, they are gonna be bruised all to crap for the first few months, then they (and their bodies) get tougher. It does take time, and pain however.
