DVD player at the gym

I hate cardio. Fucking hate it.

Not because I'm lazy, but just because I get so bored. Listening to music helps for a bit, but I end up getting bored with that too.

So I noticed that all the cardio equipment at my gym (the stairmasters, bikes, ellipticals, and treadmills) all have a little shelf thingy so you can set a magazine on it and read while you're working out. But I have this little portable DVD player made by polaroid that looked like it would sit nicely on that shelf.

So for the last 3 days I've been taking it with me and watching movies while I do my cardio. I plug in my earbuds, get engrossed in the film and the time just flies by.

I've never seen anyone at the gym doing this, so I thought I'd share just in case any of you get as bored as I do.

$100 dvd player + netflix = best cardio experience eva!

I thought about getting an ipod to do this, but why pay more to watch a smaller screen when the shelf is big enough to fit the whole dvd player with a 7, 8, or 9 inch screen instead?

Thanks for the tip. I sometimes bring a book to read when I'm on the recumbent bicycle, but it can get distracting trying to read while the legs are spinning rapidly in the background.
