Dry heaving during sparring session

Has this ever happened to anyone? I know it has to do with a lack of conditioning and it happened to me lastnight during sparring. I had to stop at the end of the round and started dry heaving. This actually happened in my first boxing smoker last year after the first round but back then I was asked to fight 2 days in advance so it was somewhat understandable. I'm hoping the same thing doesn't happen for my first Muay Thai smoker but at least this time I have 6 weeks to prepare. Is this normal and what should I do to fix the problem. Just keep training I guess, no?

Maybe you could control your breathing as you train. I would have heavy breathing when i first trained and i know i was out of shape and my cardio basically sucked. So i gradually conditioned my body slowly doing anything cardio related. And as i did my exercises i would control my breathing as to not breathe so heavily via mouth. I mostly inhaled exhaled through my nose and i always stood straight up and never hunched over or laid on my back if i was running out of breath.

I think a large part of it is that I get nervous when we are about to spar. A small part of it is conditioning. My trainer says that I start to hyper ventilate and I look nervous before we spar. We are sparring harder than usual since we are prepping for a fight. I guess really the only answer is to continue sparring so that I get used to it. A lot of pressure cuz I have 2 fights coming up that are 2 weeks apart from each other. Both are smokers.

Does sound a little like first round jitters. Your heart rate gets way elevated. Just control your breathing until you get into rhythm.

Try and stay calm, I used to always do the same thing, and as the others say just keep a steady pace and breathe right and it will improve

Probably mostly nerves and alittle cardio. Practice makes perfect!

Well, I could be wrong, but I believe a GSP is an old, old wooden ship that was used during the Civil War era.
