To drink or not to drink?

I may have a fight coming up within the next two months, however graduation is coming up which puts me in an awkward situation because i want to drink but can't because of the fight.

Will drinking have a big outcome on the fight or training?. Even if it is one night?

BTW - I didn't know where else to post this. I posted in the D&S section but they deleted it.

Short answer is not significantly, my slightly longer answer would be that if this fight is important to you I wouldn't drink if graduation is within 2 or 3 weeks of the fight and trying not to drink too much (I realize this advice will probably go unheeded.).

The thing with drinking is that it all depends on what you're drinking, how much and how often.

Sounds like you're planning to get loaded on your grad night. I seriously can't see one night of drinking ruining all of your training efforts. However do keep in mind that the after effects can be somewhat unpredictable. I've had nights where I've gotten Frank the Tank loaded and was fine the next morning. Other times I've done the same only to feel like utter hell for 3-4 days following. Also, factor in the stupid shit you might do if you're stupid drunk.

All in all, it's up to you. I would recommend you have fun but not overdo it, however you only get one graduation.

if you got more than a week to recover one night of drinking isnt going to do shit, as long as you dont drink so much that you cant stand/walk or you pass out or vomit or get alcohol poisoning

be classy and drink whiskey and soda or whiskey and water (the scotch way). You get a lot less calories out of that and nothing else tastes good mixed with water in my opinion. Plus you stay hydrated and don't end up with a nasty hangover. Also don't train the next day as that is when you are most injury prone.

one night is fine mate. especially if you have more than a weeks recovery time. Have a hangover day to rehydrate and get back to training after that. No probs at all

I'd say focus on your fight, man. If you need to, I'd say just do one night and no more than that.

Every one needs vitamin A

One day, two at most to recover. I don't see what the problem is. Are some of you guys just not giving this guy a straight answer because you don't want to encourage drinking? Come on, 1 night of drinking, even a heavy night where you get loaded and pass out vomiting (short of alcohol poisoning that is) isn't going to ruin all of your training. Just drink plenty of water before you go to bed and all day the next day.
