Doing my conditioning before MMA class

Because I have started a new job and do not have the time to train twice a day anymore I must make the change and do my strength and conditioning in relation to my skill work (aka BJJ and MMA class).

How do you guys think this will effect my improvements regarding conditioning? is it a really bad idea or may it actually be beneficial in the end?

Are we choosing between doing conditioning before class or not at all?

Also do you have to do it right before? I feel like doing conditioning work right before class is fine as long as you are taking in a proper peri-workout drink during both the conditioning and the class.

Get up early and do it before work, then give yourself time to recover throughout the day.

You don't want to go work technique already burned out from doing cardio.

It pretty much is, as my life is right now with GF, work and training this is the best way for me to fit it all in. So my questions is pretty much if my cardio and strenght training will suffer from this?

Regarding being to tired to do skill work I feel I recover pretty fast after and if I rest and do lighter GPP stuff when the rest of the class is warming up the skill work will not suffer (I think ), and ofcourse some periworkout drink during that time.

I do my conditioning before work on the days that I work out twice (2-3 times per week at most). Throw down some interval or circuit training for 10-20 minutes in the morning and I'm set. Maybe give that a try?

Yeah, my conditioning sessions takes about 30min in total, so that is doable. Would it be more beneficial for my conditioning doing it in the morning then skill work at night?

The biggest reason for this is that I want time to spend with the GF, and that is hard when I have to go training in the morning.

Thanks for the answers so far.

i understand the gf thing. i only go to jiujitsu 2-4 times a week (usually twice) because those are the nights she has class. I go to the gym in the mornings with her and on my nights off with her because I like blending training and 'quality time.'

The best advice I ever got was to get your girlfriend involved in what you are into and make it a couples type of activity to the point that she'll want to go even when you don't.

Working on it, she likes kickboxing and hopefully will start doing it again when she feels she has the time for it. But I don't think I ever will get her going up 05:30 to train, she ain't a morning person

Thanks for the tip

I condition and lift first. Got used to it just fine after a while.

In h.s. we had to condition before we lifted.... you do get used to it I imagine the same would be true with conditioning before class.

Maybe class then conditioning? At least that is how I would go about it...... is that a bad idea? lol cause I might have to do that.
