Do you use shin pads in sparring?
What are the benefits of weaaring shin pads in sparrring apart from pain avoidance? are you not better never using them and building up tolearance to pain?

It will be damn hard for you to kick and block with as good technique as you could with them without them as you can with them, unless you are a hard motherfucker.
And you dont want to be having unescesary wear and tear on your shins...
...And you will probably need to build up to doing it full force....
The question is do you do muay thai right now, and do you spar without shinpads?

Yes I do Muay Thai, and I havent bothered buying shin pads yet. So I spar without them, I was wondering if its worth my while buying some?

for sparring you need to throw shots with speed
Checking kicks without shin pads at low speed stings like a bitch, checking kicks at high speed without power will hurt and produce swelling, checking fast kicks with power will cause swelling, chip bits of bone and cause injury
Think about it
For conditioning, use bags etc, keep bone on bone contact to fights

In addition to what he said, you don't want to kill your sparring partner. Would you rather kick your sparring partner in the head without shin pads?

I read an article about a group of Americans who went to train in Thailand and one of the main things they were surprised by is that the Thais always went light in sparring, and the only way they conditioned their shins was on the bag.
(If a Thai fighter gets hurt and can't fight....he makes no money and can't eat)
I wear shin pads myself.

Use the shin pads dude. You'll be glad you did later. Besides, if you are somewhat new to kickboxing, your shins will probably feel the contact even through the pads themselves...

If in the US and UK gyms we go at sprinting speed, the thais go at crawling speed
They also spar continously for 30-45 min, not in rounds (well, at the gym I went to we did)
