Maybe we were in different spin classes. The ones I attended were brutal. Lots of resistance, lots of sprints, and a pretty hard pace throughout. But I'm only a runner -- I don't cycle on anything that isn't stationary, so maybe I don't know what I'm talking about. We're at least in agreement that running is king for cardio.

Well, it's like this... I can either jog/run/walk (alternating between them) for about a mile, or I can cycle at a decent pace for 5-6 miles. All I'm concerned with at the moment is getting some weight off (as I sit here chugging a Dr. Pepper and eating snacky cakes... fuckin' duh).

you can make good cardio out of either. the question is do you want impact or not? id personally suggest and go with running, though you should be able to get similar aerobic effects from cycling.

The overwhelming tightness in my legs is going to put me on a bike. Running hates me, I hate running, so it's bike time.

You don't want to run because it hurts, yet you are going to take Muay Thai where you are going to be getting your ass kicked?
