Conditioning/Working Out when Sick

This past week has been a nightmare. Since college started I've been training at least 1-2 times a day while trying to also complete another 50 day circuit of Never Gymless. It's been going well up until this week. This week I had three tests and the weather changed (I live in NY and it got cold). So I think I got sick because of the combination of the weather and stress (By the way I do the 50 day program outside. I also like to think I have a pretty good and balanced diet.)

Anyways enough rambling, last weekend I had a fever so I took those two days off completely. As the week went on my symptoms got better, so I trained but I did not do any of the 50 day program. Whenever I took a deep breath I would find myself coughing. Aside from that I had a sore throat and my nose would run. Before I knew it I took almost a week off from the program. Today is the 7th day of me being sick and hopefully the last (I feel about 90%). I guess my question is should I have pushed myself through it and continued the program? I don't know... I just feel like such a bitch and a failure for taking this week off. How do you guys handle training if/when you get sick?

I don't workout when im sick especially the flu or strep, if you workout in the gym its also an asshole move sweating and couching all over the place getting everyone else sick.If you workout really hard you'll be sick alot longer, get a crappy workout, and be so tired afterward you can't move. Chill out get better and pick up your program

I agree with Brandon Couden, rest then train when you are 100%.

man... i hammer back tea, blueberries, goji berries (when they dont make me sick.. i have some allergy to them), and just overall lots of clean food.

I've just always been easy to get sick. I can get sick for months at a time. Just head colds and shit that dont go away. I've always been weak immune system ever since having my tonsils taken out as a kid (they got swollen and nearly killed me)

Lots of fun lol

ps: when are you fighting again brad?

I used to be the same way, ALWAYS SICK. For me, however, the more I exercise the less frequently I get a cold/flu. If I start to feel under the weather, I still exercise, but I lighten my routine a little by just doing some light jogging and lifting. Now instead of staying sick for weeks at a time it only lasts a few days.

+1 here, I hate it when guys come to the gym sick. It is too easy to pass it to everybody else.
