Conditioning the Inside of my Thighs

Not sure if this should have gone in Stand-Up.

Whenever we do drills with kick shields ( the small ones) we'll inevitably do inside kicks. These are always tough for me, but today I got paired with this soccer player in our class who has terrible form, but can kick like a mule. After 6 Minutes of having my legs pounded by his kicks they were red and throbbing, and now my leg has a massive reddish purple spot along the inside of my knee dotted with black and blue spots.

Now outside kicks are no problem for me. He was actually kicking the outside of my thigh harder and yet these aren't nearly as painful, and don't bruise at all. My coach says it is cause of the femoral artery on the inside of my thigh. Still, I'm afraid that if I get hit with one of those full-on in a fight, I might get folded, so do you all know of any way to condition the inside of my thighs? Or should I just try to focus on avoiding inside kicks?

Stick with those kick drills you are doing now. Eventually you will notice those drills will eventually begin to hurt less and less. You simply just have to become accustomed to getting hit there and the pain. Be patient and you will notice results. Now I'm not sure exactly how badly you are being bruised or hurt, but it sounds like what you are experiencing is completely normal.

check the damn kick man!

Really though, I don't know if continuing to get kicked there is the answer, but if no permenent damage is going on you might just have to suck it up. At the very least, if you are not doing it already, make sure you are on your toes and moving. Standing flat footed usually means there is more weight on the leg then there should be, which can lead to a lot more pain than necessary.

You will most likely stop noticing the pain and all after awhile, but I don't know if the bruising will ever stop. Hey, just think of them as badges of honor like scars, cauliflower ear, and Crabs.

You will always get brusied if you get kicked and it will hurt but you can condition your mind to take the punishment as well as learn to defend and "roll" withthe kicks. Its not like in VanDammes movies

Start by making sure when he kicks your leg isnt planted on the ground taking the full brunt of the kick...
