Conditioning falling off the board...

Is it just me or does it seem like the conditioning forums have gone down hill? I'm not seeing a high level of dedication towards conditioning in general. Most threads seem to be about injury, over-training, or something that is completely retarded (sleeping with the window open).

What happened to monthly conditioning challenges that gave people a reason to get up off their ass?
Where are some of the conditioning gurus to help assist noobs and answer valid questions?

There seem to be a hand-full of people who actually respond to these threads with any intelligence.

It could just be me, but I doubt that I'm the only one who sees the lack of progress moving forward to a meaningful conditioning forum. We have S&P training logs, we have Diet logs now... there is no reason not to have a purpose for a conditioning log. In fact, I believe that could be one of the more useful logs.

That's just my thoughts. You can express your own...

I'm new but i've read most topics in here for the advice and good tips contained in them. I think this section is the best kept secret on sherdog.

I've noticed it as well. For whatever reason there just doesn't seem to be much discussion lately. I haven't seen a thread in here worth responding to in a while.

I don't think conditioning logs are necessary though, since most of the people who keep S&P logs include their conditioning and skill sessions in there. That makes sense since, those are important parts of a person's training, and they're all interrelated.

I keep up the conditioning but if I don't have a question, I won't fill in the blank space to be heard.

Also, you smell (in regards to innane comments).

If you're going to insult someone, the least you could do is learn to spell. Especially with that particular word.

Though neither of us are here to bicker, let's just avoid that.

I thought this was a question on how to restore conditioning after some reduction in stamina. I'll answer how I inflated my tiny gas tank: I work out more often. Instead of going to class 3 days a week, I go 4. They're only one hour classes. I work out 4 hours a week.

That one additional hour per week has changed me. I'm a new man. Before, I couldn't even jog around the block after our insane warm ups. Now I can do a couple of laps and come back to class ready to swing for the fences. To be clear, that single hour has added 30% more time to my workout. Looking at it like that makes clear why I'm more physically competent. I think that at my level, working out more is the simple way to add stamina and longevity to your game. If you're already working out more than a couple of hours a day, there are probably other ways to increase conditioning and you probably already know about them.

If I spelt that word in this context correctly, it would lose it's value

[can you spot the deliberate mistake there? I feel I should safe guard my mistakes now so you can see why their there...can you see another one?]

edit- okie dokie regarding not bickering

I smell more then the next guy

edit2- on topic, I think this forum has gone down hill because the initiators of the wave of new conditioning material and questions have either lost interest in posting here (for more specialised boards), lost interest in conditioning itself, or don't have any issues regarding conditioning.
Also the 'flavour of the month' that is conditioning has probably passed at the moment, hence the downturn of new questions.

I like the conditioning challenges and tried to help keep them going but I've been really busy lately (just bought a house!) so I didn't put the time in to get a Sept or Oct one going. There's no rule saying that people can't discuss a challenge and then make the thread, even if they haven't in the past.

As far as the conditioning forum falling off, in the time that I've been here this forum has never been that busy.
