Combating Side Aches

I'm shadow boxing for cardio training (doing Bas' tapes) and I always develop a nasty sideache in my upper right stomach muscle. It's always in the same place and it usually prevents me from continuing as throwing hooks is quite painful.

Are there stretches or something that I should be doing to avoid this or is it normal and something I just need to bear through. I do that stretch were you just rotate side to side at the midsection while standing but I guess that's not enough.

you need full body stretching.

one that might help the side aches= stand shoulder width, put one hand on the back of your head, straighten your back and neck, point elbow back, then with your other hand slide it down your side to about your knee, make sure to keep your body straight, don't lean forward, push your head back into your hand to hold posture. you can do this stretch with wider foot placement too

Try breathing in your nose out your mouth to control breathing through out workout even when running. Side aches are usually a sign of not being in shape. Try the breathing exercise and it will help. Oh yea make sure you always blow and have a clear nose before a workout. If your not getting enough oxygen that can drag you down fast. Huffing and puffing doesn't help.

I have this same problem, it is hell sometimes to finish up in my classes because of these. Breathing is the key, also stretching does help a bit.
