Chin up shoulder problem

While doing chin ups today i heard a crack from my right shoulder
it hurt only a bit at first only to get worse in the process...now i cant lift my right hand without my shoulder hurting im sure it will pass in a few days but i want to ask how to prevent such situations?and if it happens often...

thank u...

EDIT: Oh and the cracks kept on until the end of the workout its like my tendons or whatever is inside was brushing against the bone if u know what i mean...

PS: any remedies?

See a doc. This goes agains the typical pullup teachings but you really shouldn't let your self hang all the way when you decend. You have to keep your shoulders back, dont let them round up/forward, thats a great way to bust em.
allways keep tension in your shoulders while doing pullups or chin-ups. Its the same thing with almost every lift, shoulders back & chest up.

I would see a shoulder specialist, or a Physical therapist. It sounds to me like biceps tendon issues, but that is a wild guess.

Either that, or a subluxated AC joint. But I can't say I've ever seen that happen, so go with what Dan said, and see a specialist.
