Try swimming like 30 minutes everyday with very very short rest periods, Alot of MMA pro's work alot of freestyle swimming into their routines, The pool is usually 25 Meters long, try going back and forth 5 times without stoping so 500 meters 9or yards whatever) and try doing that 3 times and then up it as it gets easier, it's good because it works your cardio and muscles all at once and its very low impact.
